What a great experience and an honor it was to spend time with children who are excited about their future!

One of our trainees and I had the privilege of visiting Christel House in Ottery, where we spent time educating Grade 1s and 2s about the world of Hospitality and Tourism. It was truly overwhelming—in the best way—to see how passionate and curious they are at such a young age. We met little chefs, mini receptionists, and what blew me away the most: a confident little Hotel Manager in the making!It was an absolute privilege to be part of something that inspires and empowers our youth. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do—because every child deserves a dream and someone to believe in it with them.

Your energy, determination, and community spirit shine through every step you took. Not only did you complete the challenge, but you also helped support a fantastic initiative that truly makes a difference.

Every step taken helped bring us closer together, reinforced the strong bond of our community, and supported a cause that hits close to home. Beach Clean-Up Initiative: Peninsula Hotel, Excellerate Security, and Totalstay Property Management Team Up for Madiba Day 🌊🌍

On July 18, 2025, in honor of Madiba Day, the Peninsula Hotel, in collaboration with Excellerate Security and Totalstay Property Management, embarked on a meaningful beach clean-up initiative. This event not only showcased community spirit but also highlighted the importance of environmental stewardship.

A Day of Service

Madiba Day is celebrated annually on Nelson Mandela's birthday, where individuals are encouraged to contribute 67 minutes of their time to help improve their communities, symbolizing Mandela's 67 years of public service. This year, the Peninsula Hotel, Excellerate Security, and Totalstay Property Management took the opportunity to make a positive impact on the environment by organizing a beach clean-up event.

The Collaboration

The partnership between these organizations exemplified a commitment to both community welfare and environmental sustainability:
- The Peninsula All-Suite Hotel: Renowned for its luxury and hospitality, the Peninsula Hotel has always prioritized environmental practices and community involvement.
- Excellerate Security: With a strong focus on safety and responsibility, Excellerate Security brought their expertise and resources to ensure the event was safe and well-organized.
- Totalstay Property Management: As a property management leader, Totalstay’s involvement demonstrated its commitment to sustainable practices and community engagement.

The Clean-Up Effort

Under the warm sun, volunteers gathered at the beach, equipped with gloves and trash bags. The clean-up took place over 67 minutes, a fitting tribute to the legacy of Nelson Mandela. The participants worked together diligently, picking up litter and debris, while raising awareness about the importance of keeping our natural spaces clean.

Community Impact

The event not only resulted in a cleaner beach but also fostered a sense of camaraderie among participants. Volunteers included employees from all partnering organizations, local community members, and even some enthusiastic guests from the Peninsula Hotel.

ROCK PAINTING FOR LANGKLOOF CHILDREN'S VILLAGE 2025

The 🪨 painting we did for the children of Langkloof Village is a delightful and creative initiative aimed at bringing 😊 and inspiration to their environment. This project involved painting vibrant and whimsical designs on rocks, transforming ordinary 🪨 into unique pieces of art that spark imagination.

Each 🪨 features colorful images, including friendly animals, enchanting landscapes, and uplifting messages, all carefully crafted to brighten the children's days. The 💡 was to create a playful atmosphere that encourages outdoor exploration and creativity.
We hope that these 🎨 rocks serve as a source of joy and inspiration for the 🚸 of Langkloof Village, reminding them that they are cherished and capable of creating their own beautiful paths in life. It’s our belief that small acts of creativity can have a lasting impact on their ❤️ and minds.

Yesterday, the Peninsula Hotel, in partnership with Touching Dreams, hosted a memorable golf day at Rondebosch to raise funds for a wonderful boy with autism. We are thrilled to report that the event was a tremendous success, bringing together our community for a day of fun and support.
